Electric Heating in Your Computers

electric heatingComputers can produce a lot of electric heating, and most people find themselves wishing they’d just cool down. From simple fans or aluminum heat sinks to extremely complicated liquid cooling setups complete with a fountain and a few gold fish, the efforts to get rid of computers’ electric heating proves the fact that it is completely unwanted. Nothing good comes from excess computer heat. From warped motherboards to destroyed hard drives, keeping all that built-up heat away from vital electronics is an intricate process sometimes. Then there are server rooms, which take it to another level. Until the heatless computer comes to market, however, these cooling systems will remain necessary.

Electric Heating and Cell Phones

electric heatingHave you ever noticed that your cell phone is reaching extremely high temperatures during the day? Much like bigger computers, cell phones produce plenty of heat as a byproduct of their processing, but there isn’t room for proper cooling systems within a smartphone. Instead, manufacturers must rely on heat sinks and small vents to relieve the delicate electronics of the blistering heat. With examples from battery fires to serious burns for users circulating the web, cell phone companies would love to see a phone that doesn’t produce electric heating in the near future. Developing this technology, however, isn’t complete just yet.

Electric Heating and the History of Light

Remember those inefficient light bulbs that produced so much heat that you’d burn your hand if you touched them? Burning out every couple of weeks as a result of the excess warmth, scientists knew that they could do better, and they worked diligently to find an improved solution. Then, there was the light emitting diode (LED). Just like that, electric heating from lights was decreased dramatically and the lifespan of each bulb grew exponentially. With this revolution, home fires were decreased, particularly around the holiday season, and electricity usage was minimized. We all love a nice, warm heater in the winter time, but decreasing useless heat produced by our electronics could save us all some time and money in the long run.

Electric Heating and Furnaces

Furnaces produce heat, and that’s a good thing. Regardless of all of the unnecessary heat produced by electronics, we can all take advantage of the electric heating provided by central heating systems.
